Build a little gnome world in glass: ferns, mossy groundcover, and a gnome tucked in where you want him. After hours in a 200-year-old mercantile, everything provided, and a beverage on us.
What you'll build
The shop closes at five. At six it's just us, the lights on in a building that's been standing for two hundred years, and a table full of ferns and tiny gnomes.
You'll build a gnome terrarium in a 7" glass lily bowl. Wide and open with a flared rim, so the whole little world shows from every angle. Ferns, mossy groundcover, tropicals in deep greens and burgundies, then stone, moss, and a gnome to live in it. Some people build a tidy garden. Some build a whole scene. Both are correct.

Good to know
Tropicals keep going year round, so this one isn't seasonal. It's a real little garden that'll be on your shelf long after the holidays.
Sand Lake Merchant lives in a building that's been at the center of Averill Park for two hundred years, first as the town's grocery and post office. Today it's a mercantile and cafe with Italian gelato, local goods, and an upstairs event space. We're there after hours, so the shop is ours for the night.
Families are welcome. Minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Come solo, come with your crew, come on a date. Beginners are the whole point, so if you've killed every plant you've ever owned, you're in the right room.

What’s included
Each workshop includes your vessel, plants, and all supplies needed to create your project, plus step-by-step instructions. No experience needed.
Booking info
Reserve your spot online, then check in by name when you arrive. Please arrive 15 minutes before the start time, and keep in mind that some venues only offer street parking.
Important info
Please arrive on time so you can settle in before we begin. Kids under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. You must be 21 years old or older to drink alcohol.

We understand plans change. Cancellations made within 48 hours can receive a credit. No refunds. No credits for no-shows.
